• The End

Chris Posted Thursday at 08:32 AM by Chris Wanstrath

FamSpam will be shutting down February 1st, 2010.

It's been a wild ride but unfortunately we're shutting the doors. We can no longer afford the time or money to keep FamSpam running.

Thanks for your support over the years!

We recommend Yahoo Groups or Google Groups as solid ways to stay in touch.

  • FamSpam Plan and Pricing Overhaul

PJ Posted Monday at 04:16 PM by PJ Hyett

We rolled out a large update to our plans and pricing last night.

Gone is the confusing list of plans to choose from and the hassle of having to upgrade when you reach a certain family size.

Starting today, there is only one plan. It's $39.95/year with a 14 day free trial and provides unlimited members, photos and email! Stacked up against the previous plans, this is a _minimum_ $100 savings every year.

This also means is that we're discontinuing service of our free plans. Any families currently on a free plan will have to enter in a valid credit card by September 4th to keep their service active.

We're unhappy we have to do that, but in order to provide a higher level of service for our paying customers, we felt it was the right decision.

For any comments or questions, please email us at support@famspam.com

  • Photo Slideshows

Chris Posted Monday at 10:59 AM by Chris Wanstrath

Just in time for holiday photo sharing, we've added a slideshow feature to all the photo popups on FamSpam.

    Hit play!

To use it, open any photo on a page with more than one photo (like your family's 'photos' page) and click the 'play' icon in the bottom left. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy.

  • Hello 2008!

PJ Posted Thursday at 11:00 PM by PJ Hyett

The first of the year is always a great time to reflect on how the previous year went and to set goals for the future.

Here at FamSpam, we're thrilled how things have been going so far and see only great things on the horizon. Stick around for improvements and updates to the service as the months progress!

Of course, we'll be sure and tell you all about it right here on the blog.

Visit the Waggoners by clicking the 'demo' link in the navigation bar at the top, or just heading to http://famspam.com/demo/. We think you'll like what you see -- be sure to check out Paul's pictures from his recent trip to Paris!

  • Welcome to FamSpam!

PJ Posted Tuesday at 01:49 AM by PJ Hyett

What started as a quick app that we wanted to build for our families turned into full-blown service we wanted to share with the world. After speaking with countless people looking for the same thing, we knew what we had to do.

The problem was simple: emailing your entire family needed to be easy enough for even the least computer-savvy. The answer was not to fight the web's most-used service, rather to embrace the one thing everyone on the Internet knows how to use...email!

FamSpam as a website is but extension of the underlying service. That is, if my mom wants to email her children, she only needs to remember one email: hyett@famspam.com.

The fact that she can also search our family's conversations, view photos attached to any email, and post messages on our family's site is just gravy.

We hope you find FamSpam as useful as we do, but if you're not convinced just try it for 30 days. We won't ask you for anything.

If you have any problems, questions, or complaints, feel feel to email us at support@famspam.com.

    Yours truly,
    PJ Hyett & Chris Wanstrath
